I’ve read about piezoelectric fuel injectors but don’t know much about them. What are they, and how do they differ from conventional fuel injectors?
What are piezoelectric fuel injectors, and how do they differ from conventional injectors?
Piezoelectric fuel injectors use piezoelectric crystals that expand and contract in response to electrical signals, allowing for extremely precise control over fuel injection timing and quantity. This results in better fuel atomization, improved combustion efficiency, and reduced emissions. Conventional injectors, typically solenoid-operated, cannot match the speed and precision of piezoelectric injectors. Piezoelectric injectors are especially beneficial in high-pressure direct injection systems, where precise fuel delivery is critical for performance and efficiency.
