A hydrogen fuel cell vehicle (FCV) generates electricity through an electrochemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen in the fuel cell stack. Hydrogen gas is supplied to the anode, where it splits into protons and electrons. The protons pass through a membrane to the cathode, while the electrons flow through an external circuit, generating electricity. At the cathode, the protons and electrons combine with oxygen from the air to form water, which is the only emission. FCVs offer high efficiency and zero emissions, making them a promising alternative to traditional internal combustion engines.
